Grazing Farm Families

Individuals Working Together to Promote Grazing and Grassed-based Practices throughout Ozaukee County

A subgroup of the Clean Farm Families, the Grazing Farm Families showcases and promotes grazing and grass-based practices to all in Ozaukee County.

Every year we hold a grazing event open to the public that educates and demonstrates different aspects of grazing including marketing, watering systems, financial analyses, pasture and fence establishment, and more!

Grazing has numerous environmental and economical benefits. From adding nutrients through manure, promoting deeper root growth in plants, reduction in feed costs, and healthier herds, there are many benefits to consider when looking at rotationally grazing your animals.

"Take the box and throw it away so you can think outside the box. We wanted to farm in a way we can manage our debt, lowering our expenses, reducing our

labor costs, and we learned

about rotational grazing and

what that can do to benefit

the soil."
